Promoting the culture of open data
We believe that a shared culture of open data is key to better communities. Open data enables effective collaboration, informs stakeholders and supports sound and inclusive decision-making processes.
Our open data work is currently focused on improving the geospatial data in Mongolia to make it openly accessible to everyone including the local governments, academia, local communities and the public.
Making crucial geospatial data on settlements and infrastructures openly available and accessible hope to promote disaster preparedness, natural resource management, improve navigation in the country, and support collaboration between public, private and civil society sectors.

In celebration of Open Data Day, we are organizing a mapathon event with our community of mappers every two weeks with a goal to map 21 places in Mongolia for the year of 2021.
